A tense crime: The sto­len bike

It was a Tuesday afternoon when Rudy   (finish) school and   (make) her way home. On the way, she   (decide) to stop at Tesco because her dad   (prepare) lunch and had asked her to pick up a few things. She   (leave) her bike outside the entrance and   (go) into the shop.

While Rudy   (walk) through the shop, her classmate Selma   (pass) by outside. Selma   (glance) at her watch and   (realise) she was late. She had to pick up her little sister from the train station. Just as she   (think) about what to do, she   (spot) Rudy's bike standing outside Tesco. Without hesitating, she   (decide) to borrow it without asking and quickly   (leave) in the direction of the train station.

Only a few moments later, Rudy   (come) out of the shop and   (walk) over to where she had left her bike. She   (stop) and   (look) around, confused. The bike was not there anymore. Then she   (notice) something in the distance. Someone   (ride) her bike down the road. She was very angry.

Fortunately, Selma   (arrive) at the train station just in time. Her little sister   (stand) on the platform and   (wait) for her. She was very relieved to see Selma, and the two of them   (go) home together.
