- Conditional sentences, type I



A conditional sentence is about the future or the present. The if-clause expresses a condition, the main clause expresses the consequence.

We use conditional sentences, type I...

(1) ...when we want to say that sth. will happen if a condition is fulfilled.

(2) ...when we think it is possible or when we predict that sth will happen.

(3) ...when we want to give advice.

(1) If you book the train tickets early, they will be cheaper. - (2) If she speaks English, you can ask her for help. If he doesn't get up early, he'll miss the bus. - (3) If you go tp London, you should visit the London Eye.
