Part 2: Reading

Emma, Liam, and Sarah are spending a weekend in London and can’t wait to see the famous landmarks. They meet in the morning to plan their day.

“I really think we should go to the London Eye first,” says Emma. “It’s close to the Thames, and the view from up there is amazing! We can see all of London from above.”

“That sounds nice,” replies Liam, “but the Tower of London is nearby too, and it’s one of the oldest sites in the city. I’ve always wanted to see the Crown Jewels.” He points down the river. “If we start from Westminster Bridge, we can follow the Thames, pass by some other sights, and then turn right to get to the Tower.”

Sarah, however, has another idea. “I’d love to see Buckingham Palace first,” she says. “If we go down the street and turn left at the next intersection, we’ll reach the palace quickly. We might even catch the Changing of the Guard!”

The friends discuss it for a while and finally decide to visit Buckingham Palace first, then walk to the Tower of London, and finish their day at the London Eye. They agree that by following each other’s directions, they can see all the landmarks without getting lost.
