Lena visited her friend Emma. Emma was new in town and did not know the way. They talked on the phone, and Lena told her the way.
“You start at the train station,” Lena said. “When you leave (verlassen) it, there are many trees. First, go straight ahead until the big crossroad (Zebrastreifen). At the crossroad, look to the other side of the road. You can see a small bakery at the opposite side. It smells very nice because they bake fresh bread every day. Now turn right into Linden Street,” Lena told Emma.
“Walk along Linden Street for 200 meters. The street is not very busy. On the left side, you can see a playground. There are often children playing there after school.
Go straight on. After a short time, you reach a traffic light. Stop there and look carefully. Then cross (überqueren) the street. After you cross the street, turn into Park Street. This street is smaller and very quiet. There are many trees and a few houses.
You can see a small park on the right side. The park has many green trees and a bench. People like to sit there.
Next to the park, there is a yellow house with a red door. That is my house. I wait for you at the door!”
Emma listened carefully and said the directions again. Then she started her way.
