Plays, Musicals, and Films in London
London is famous for its amazing plays and musicals. The city has 241 theatres, and most of them are in the West End, a lively area near Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, and Covent Garden Tube stations. People from all over the world visit London just to watch these shows!
Many musicals run for years because they are so popular. For example, The Lion King is one of the most famous musicals and has been playing for a very long time. Other well-known shows include Les Misérables, Wicked, and Mamma Mia! These musicals have beautiful songs, exciting dances, and great stories that make people happy.
London is also a great place for film lovers. There are 108 cinemas where you can watch the newest movies. Some cinemas are very big and modern, while others are small and cozy. Many famous films, like the Harry Potter movies, were even made in London!
If you visit London, you should definitely watch a play or musical. It’s a fun way to spend an evening, and you might even see a famous actor on stage! And if you love movies, you can enjoy the latest blockbusters in one of the city’s many cinemas. London truly has something for everyone!

Copy the blue box into your 📒 notebook.

After some verbs we use to + infinitive, and after some verbs we use the -ing form.

When you learn words, learn this too.

After I like (and I love / I hate) you can use to + infinitive AND the -ing form.

After I’d like, you can only use to + infinitive.
