    1 Future Tenses

    1Fill in the most important pieces of information.

    1.1 Will-Future

    Use: What do you use it for?

    Form: How does it look like?

    will + infinitive // OR // "'ll" or "won't"

    predictions or assumptions, things we cannot control.

    1.2 Going to-future

    Use: What do you use it for?

    am/is/are + going to + infinitive

    a We use it to talk about ...

    fixed plans or intentions for the future.

    Example(s):

    a: I'm going to work when I'm older.

    b

    something that will very probably happen because you can already see signs for it.

    b: Look at the clouds - it is going to rain!

    1.3 simple present with future meaning

    Form: How does it look like?

    Use: What do you use it for?

    infinitive, but we add an "-s" for the 3rd person singular.

    We use it to talk about ...

    a timetable, a programme of events, schedule etc.

    Example(s):

    The next train arrives at 8:30 am.

    1.4 present progressive with future meaning

    Form: How does it look like?

    Use: What do you use it for?

    am/is/are + -ing-form + phrase about future time (like "on Saturday")

    We use it to talk about ...

    something that is definitely planned or arranged.

    Example(s):

    We are having a barbecue on Saturday.
